Abstract

The content of the study concerns the presence of Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł “Panie Kochanku” motive in Polish romantic literature especially in the works by Zygmunt Krasiński. The authoress describes the issues of his story [Panie Kochanku. Story – Panie Kochanku. Powiastka] and considers their editorial and artistic values, moreover searches alleged sources of a young poet’s (Krasiński) knowledge about the eccentric magnate. She also ponders if Krasiński might have known the story from Mickiewicz – a friend to Henryk Rzewuski who was retelling chats about both Radziwiłł and his indispensable companion Włodkowic. The other thread of the article concentrates on reflections regarding Mickiewicz and his opinions on the two erstwhile Sarmatians.

Dorota Kulczycka, University of Zielona Góra

Historian and theoretician of literature, habilitated doctor, employed at the Institute of Polish Philology at the University of Zielona Góra as an associate professor. Author of the books: I am like a man who flies in his sleep. On the symbolism of birds in the work of Juliusz Słowacki (2004), "To say everything, what I am silent about". On the poetry of Stanisław Barańczak (2008), The image of the Holy Land in the era of romanticism (2012), Towards the Orient. Polish and French romantics on the Middle East (2012), The Holy Land in the era of romanticism. Anthology (2013). She is also the co-editor of the collective work Returning home. Studies in the anthropology and poetics of space (together with A. Seul, Zielona Góra 2012) and subsequent volumes of the university scientific series "Scripta Humana". Recently, she has been dealing with the theory of soliloquies. She is also interested in film studies.
